ATLANTA, GA (August 15, 2024) – The United States Esports Federation (USEF.GG) and Init Esports are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership which creates a pathway for U.S. athletes to participate in global competition in sim racing. As a first step, the organizations will collaborate to identify top sim racers in the U.S. to participate in the Assetto Corsa Competizione National Qualifiers in September, 2024.
Interested participants can sign up at www.Initesports.gg/gegqualifier between August 15 and September 15. There will be two separate competitions: one for women only and one open to all athletes. Two online qualifier races will be livestreamed on September 21 and 22. These races will determine the winners who will go on to race on Assetto Corsa Competizione at the in-person Global Esports Games in China this December.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the top sim racing games in the market, developed by Kunos Simulazioni. Launched in 2019, it has quickly become the gold standard for sim racing enthusiasts, offering an unparalleled level of realism and immersion. With its state-of-the-art graphics, physics engine, and meticulously detailed tracks and cars, Assetto Corsa Competizione delivers a true-to-life racing experience.
“As a three-time Women’s Motocross World Champion who moved from Italy to the U.S. to chase my racing dreams, I know firsthand just how costly a career in motorsports can be. That’s why I’m thrilled to see sim racing leveling the playing field, giving everyone a chance to compete with the best sim racers in the world—regardless of their background,” said Stefy Bau, CEO of Init Esports. “The opportunities this opens up for aspiring champions are limitless! Sim racing is not just a game; it’s a direct pathway to real-world racing, and seeing it gain the recognition it deserves on the global stage fills me with excitement and hope for a more inclusive future in motorsports.”
“USEF.GG is gaining recognition as the leading organization for esports athletes in the U.S.,” Bau added. “Init Esports values their experience in building teams for international esports tournaments, and we’re thrilled to partner on this first global qualifier for sim racing.” Bau officially serves as a member of the USEF.GG Player Selection Committee, providing leadership and guidance to ensure that qualified athletes exemplify the highest standards of competence, professionalism, and integrity.
“At USEF.GG, we’re working hard to develop successful teams and events for players and developers in a variety of titles,” said Bethany Pyles, Player Development Specialist at USEF.GG. “Sim racing is a hugely popular sport, and we’re excited to work with Init Esports to bring this event to life in the U.S.”
